AMPS General Assembly hosted by Elcogen in Tallinn

On 7 October 2025, the AMPS project held its General Assembly in Tallinn, hosted by project partner Elcogen at their newly inaugurated high-volume manufacturing facility.

Elcogen’s new 14,000 m² factory, located on the outskirts of Tallinn, increases production capacity from 10 MW to 360 MW, making it one of Europe’s largest sites for the manufacturing of high-efficiency Solid Oxide Cell (SOC) technologies.

The meeting offered an excellent opportunity to review project progress in several key areas of SOC cell and stack manufacturing — including cell production with recycled materials, defect detection, interconnector welding, sealant deposition, and stack assembly. These developments are essential to reduce investment costs and accelerate the commercial deployment of SOC technologies.

Discussions also focused on evaluating the economic and environmental benefits of the improved manufacturing process and on advancing the digital twin of the production line.

This visit highlighted the strong link between AMPS and large-scale industrial implementation, reinforcing the shared goal of delivering cost-effective, high-performance SOC and SOEC technologies ready for real-world applications.

The AMPS consortium warmly thanks Elcogen for their hospitality and for the opportunity to visit such an impressive, state-of-the-art facility — a true example of European excellence in clean energy manufacturing.
