AMPS project well represented at EFCF 2026

The European Fuel Cell Forum (EFCF 2026), held in Lucerne (Switzerland), provided an excellent opportunity for the AMPS consortium to disseminate project results and engage with the international Solid Oxide Cell (SOC) community.

Beyond the technical sessions, the conference also highlighted the strong involvement of AMPS in the scientific community. Jari Kiviaho (VTT), AMPS Project Coordinator, served as a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee, contributing to the scientific organisation of the conference.

Several AMPS partners actively contributed through oral presentations, posters and exhibition activities.

Politecnico di Torino presented the contribution "Role of Solid Oxide Electrolysis in Cost-Competitive Green Ammonia Production", highlighting how SOEC technology can support the production of competitive renewable ammonia under different renewable energy scenarios.

Elcogen combined its exhibition activities with scientific dissemination, presenting several contributions, including "Industrial Scale Recycling of Waste during Tape-Casting of the Support Layer for Anode-Supported Fuel Cells". The work illustrates ongoing efforts to integrate recycling strategies into large-scale SOC manufacturing, improving both sustainability and resource efficiency.

VÚTS presented "Bridging Manufacturing to Operation: A Validated Multi-Scale SOFC Stack Model for Digital Twin Deployment", illustrating the development of advanced modelling tools that connect manufacturing and operation, paving the way for digital twin applications in Solid Oxide technologies.

HaikuTech also participated as an exhibitor, presenting its advanced manufacturing and AI-based inspection solutions for Solid Oxide Cell production, including the High-Resolution Automatic Visual Inspection System being developed within the AMPS project.

SITEC Industrietechnologie GmbH presented "Investigation of Advanced Beam-Shaped Laser Welding Parameters for Enhanced Solid Oxide Cell Interconnect Integrity", showcasing developments in advanced laser welding technologies to improve the quality and reliability of SOC stack manufacturing.

The broad participation of AMPS partners at EFCF 2026 reflects the multidisciplinary nature of the project, covering the entire SOC manufacturing chain - from sustainable materials and recycling to advanced manufacturing, automation, digitalisation and future energy applications.
